In addition to have an existing CCNA already, you will need to look at completing a four exams on topics based around Routing, Switching, Securing Wide Area Network, and Network Optimisation. However, there are two exams which can be taken as a one, which combines topics from the Routing and Switching exams.

CCNP Overview (req. 642-901, 642-812, 642-825, and 642-845, or 640-892, 642-825, and 642-845)

642-812 BCMSN Topic Overview
642-825 ISCW Topic Overview
642-845 ONT Topic Overview
642-892 Composite (BSCI and BCMSN) Topic Overview

What to do with your certification:
Ideally you should already be in the networking industry once you have completed your CCNP, however if you are not, and lacking a little real world experience, you may want to look at roles that only involve CCNA level work, while you build up your skills.
